“Dichte”, Kunstraum Akademie Weingarten, 2003, with Richard Spaeth (sound)

Spaces formed by buildings are concrete. They have a form, a purpose, a history. Built rooms are ‘solidified’ space. We encounter them with our artistic devices, with which we expose the openness, the transience, the uncertainty of space. What is solid has form; in volatility different degrees of density are revealed. In the clear formal situation at Weingarten Monastery, we generate such densities with sound and light: in the way through the rooms, in the interplay of the installations, in the changes from day to night, winter to summer, in the orchestrated intervention.
